Experience Matters.
As a former Plano ISD Trustee, I honed my ability to work collaboratively on a Board, building consensus to achieve the best outcomes for our community. I often reflect on a quote from Christopher Markus: "Compromise where you can. Where you can't, don't." While on the School Board, I worked closely with state legislators on key education bills and advocated for greater transparency and accountability in public education. Notable examples include legislation ensuring due process in grievance matters and safeguarding parental rights.
These experiences have prepared me to serve the residents of Plano on the City Council, Place 4. I am committed to working with all stakeholders to help our city reach its full potential.
My Priorities for the Next Four Years:
🔵 Public Safety – Our first responders are the backbone of our community. Ensuring that our police, fire, and EMS departments are properly funded and equipped is essential to maintaining public safety and law and order. I will prioritize community engagement with houses of worship to give our faith community the resources and training they need to stay safe.
🔵 Fiscal Responsibility – Maximizing the efficiency of our city’s budget while maintaining a high standard of living for Plano residents is essential to the city's continued success. I would support a conservative debt management policy to use your tax dollars as efficiently as possible.Â
🔵 Public Transportation – Regional growth depends on effective public transit. The DART tax is a complex issue, and if elected, I am committed to working with fellow Council members, state legislators, and other stakeholders to explore ways to reduce the burden of this tax on Plano residents.
🔵 Growth Management—The Plano Comprehensive Plan of 2021 is our city's blueprint for future growth. I will ensure that all development and redevelopment projects align with the vision of the plan, always keeping the best interests of our residents at the forefront.
🔵 Economic and Workforce Development – Plano's fiscal health has been driven by strong economic growth. As Texas continues to attract businesses, we must maintain a business-friendly environment to ensure Plano remains their destination of choice.
🔵 Preserving and Enhancing Public Amenities – I am committed to preserving and improving our parks, recreation centers, senior centers, and libraries, ensuring these vital community spaces continue to serve all Plano residents.
🔵 Transparency, Accountability, and Consensus—As a Council member, I will prioritize transparency and responsiveness, ensuring that Plano residents and taxpayers are always informed and heard. Building consensus is key to addressing the diverse needs of our community.
🔵 Collaboration with Fellow Council Members – I will continue to support initiatives that benefit our city, such as Council Member Shelby Williams’ work on improving water quality, keeping taxes low, enhancing traffic flow, and repairing our roads.
I look forward to working with you to build a brighter future for Plano. Together, we can ensure that our city remains a thriving place to live, work, and raise a family.
